Obituary – Michael Leech

Michael Leech passed away peacefully on 10/27/2021. He was a distinguished leader in the mediation and arbitration field. Michael spent many years as an attorney with Hinshaw and Culbertson specializing in labor and employment and business litigation in Chicago before becoming a full-time neutral in 2011.

Mike was passionate about dispute resolution and was a leader in the movement in Chicago. He relocated to Philadelphia in 2014 and became an active member of the Philadelphia Bar.

Mike had many affiliations including the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals, the International Academy of Mediators, the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the Association of Attorney- Mediators. He was proud to have been one of the original founders of the National Employment Lawyers Association.

Michael was a friend and mentor to many. His positive outlook, keen legal mind and quirky sense of humor were hallmarks of his personality.

Mike leaves behind his wife, Kathy, and his two boys, Jack and Neil. The role he took the most delight and pride in was father. His boys will remember his passion for history, his sense of curiosity and his love of travel.

Mike suggested that he be remembered by raising a glass of wine in his honor. Cheers!
