Michael J. Leech - Talk Sense Mediation.

Mike Leech opens practice as full-time neutral.

It was fifteen years ago when I first acted as the mediator of a case.
Since then, I have only become more enthusiastic about the mediation process and profession. Mediation came to represent 90% of my practice. So earlier this year, I left Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, a great firm of wonderful people,
to become an independent mediator. My new office is now set up.

I have adopted the trade name “Talk Sense.” To me, this is what mediation is about—for the parties, for the lawyers, for the mediator. My website is
, and it has useful resources on negotiation, mediation and arbitration—please check it out. I will also be blogging on the website about damages and remedies (both commercial litigation and employment law).

In 2011, over 90% of the cases I mediated were resolved. In May, I was inducted as a Distinguished Fellow in the International Academy of Mediators, an elite group of commercial mediators. I was selected as a “Top 100 Illinois Super Lawyer” for 2011 and 2012 and also chosen as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Please keep me in mind as a mediator when you are selecting someone, and feel free to call to brainstorm on getting a case into mediation.
